Rufflers

Today I want to focus on one of my favourite little sewing gadgets - a ruffler attachement for sewing machines. I know, at first I thought this sounded rather scary too, ruffles remind me of those rather uncharming ruffled edge pillows or other such frightening things (of course some people quite like ruffled edge pillows but I am not one of them).
But actually, rufflers are quite cool. Let me say that again so you know that wasn't some spelling mistake - rufflers are quite cool!! Especially when you're sewing little girls clothing. It's that much easier to make twirly skirts, ruffled pants and so much more!! And let's face it - twirly skirts in particular are VERY cool if you're a girl between 2-6 years of age.
So this is what one looks like...looks complicated but really isn't.

And this is what you can do with a fancy piece of machinery like this:

Your local sewing shop should have rufflers for your brand of sewing machine. If you can't find one or the prices are beyond funny, contact us and we'll see if we can get hold of any for you.
Or you can make simple ruffles on your sewing machine...and without a ruffler...but that's for another post.
