Super Easy Pavlova

I'm not exactly a pro in the kitchen, I have very little patience for these things. My cakes generally taste good but look like a bomb has hit them...oops.

But a friend gave me below recipe and I tried it and it turned out stunningly. It's soo easy, I always thought pavs were tricky...but not this one and I'm allowed to share it with you..

The other thing I figured is that it's super cheap. I mean think about it...the below ingredients would barely add up to $1.50. Cream works out to be about $1.60 per bottle (PaknSave) so I think for $3 or so you'd have yourself a cheap dessert. Of course chocolate, fruit etc will add a few extra cents but still...cheap!! A normal cake would work out much dearer, especially the ones with lots of butter.

2 egg whites
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 tsp cornflour
1 tsp vinegar
4 tablespoons hot water
1/2 tsp vanilla

Place all ingredients in a bowl and mix on high speed for 15 minutes (keep an eye on your mixer so it doesn't overheat).
Prepare baking paper on tray and spread mixture on a 20cm circle.
Bake at 180C for 10 minutes
Reduce heat to 150C for 50 minutes

Remember to NOT open the door once it's in there and once it's finished leave the over door closed til it's stone cold. The take it out and decorate with cream, fruit, chocolate...be creative!!

Below is my attempt.
